This is the Place

This post is a month old, but I forgot to take my camera
and I just got these from Alison.
Along with the 24th of July, they had a family day
at This is the Place Park.
Not everyone was able to go, but it was a lot of fun.
We don't have pictures, but they also had lots of crafts for the kids to make, a magic show, panning for gold and all the popsicles they wanted to eat.
We'll have to plan to go next year also.

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful Bird Family Reunion. We have the best extended family in the whole world.
Here is the potato salad recipe that was requested. (I used just regular mayonnaise and I didn't have sweet pickles so I left them out.)
Bonnie

Potato Salad
(from Sharlene Ladle)

In a large bowl, combine:
1 c. Best Foods lite mayonnaise 2 tsp. sugar
(no substitute please) 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. cider vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. prepared mustard 1/4 tsp. pepper
(not powdered/dry mustard) 1/4 tsp. onion salt

Refrigerate and let sit while preparing the following:
6 cooked, cooled and cubed potatoes 1/4 c. thinly sliced celery
4 chopped hard-boiled eggs Sweet pickles, chopped
4 green onions, chopped 1 tsp. parsley flakes

After potatoes have completely cooled, mix potatoes and the rest of the ingredients with the mayonnaise mixture. Refrigerate several hours before serving. Garnish each serving with olive, parsley, or pimento. Makes 8 cups, serving is about an ice cream scoop size.

Millcreek Canyon

That was a great family reunion with lots of fun.
We really had the best turn out.
If I'm correct, all of the grandchildren, except 4
came to some or all of the reunion.
We do have to excuse those 4: Jeff was in Florida, Ryan in Texas,
Steven in the Philipines and Jacqui in London.
We had 69 people at bowling and Bonnie's house,
63 at Raging Waters and 67 at the canyons.
I'm not sure if I got pictures of everyone,
if you have some pictures add them to the blog
or e-mail them to me.
Thank you Bonnie for all your time in planning this reunion!!
